With an emphasis on developing the next generation of academic leaders, these programs provide an opportunity for participants from across the member universities to learn from one another about the challenges and opportunities of leadership in research universities. In addition to the Academic Leadership Program, Departmental Executive Officers seminar, TechForum and Diversity Forum, member universities host a number of conferences each year on a variety of topics.

In 1997-98 the CIC initiated an annual program of leadership development opportunities for department heads and chairs (Department Executive Officers or "DEOs"). CIC CIO TechForum
The CIC TechForum is a biennial working and educational gathering hosted by the CIC Chief Information Officers for their IT staffs.
TechForum2007 will be held October 3-4 in Indianapolis, IN. The conference website is now open and features speaker background information and abstracts of scheduled presentations.
CIC Diversity Forum
The Diversity Forum, a biennial symposium, brings together faculty, administrators and staff from CIC member universities to critically examine issues impacting diversity. Purdue University hosted the 2005 Diversity Forum on April 3-5. The conference program and participant list are available on the Diversity Forum 2005 website. |
