About this Group
The CIC Planning Officers are a group of institutional researchers, budget officers, quality improvement and program review specialists, and other university faculty and staff who devote their time to planning efforts. First convened by Louise Sandmeyer of Penn State, the group initially met at Michigan State University in 2006. Members of the group found the experience to be valuable, and decided to continue meeting on an annual basis, with Ohio State hosting the 2007 meeting. The 2008 meeting will be held on the campus of the University of Wisconsin.
The CIC Planning Officers meetings bring together university planners who work in very different contexts on their campuses, but are all bound by their need and desire to help their institutions create an exciting future. Just as interdisciplinary work expands the borders of knowledge for our academic colleagues, so too does it create the opportunity for cutting-edge institutional planning as we broaden our perspectives and develop new approaches. We welcome our CIC colleagues responsible for planning on their campuses to our learning community and hope you will join us on our listserv and at our meetings.
