You will be asked to select the institutions where you wish to apply and you may select any or all SROP institutions using the online application form.
Each institution has its own program dates, stipend amounts, room and board allowance, etc. To help you refine your choice of programs, please refer to the Program Information Table. Note: Indiana University is not accepting CIC SROP applications at this time.
If you wish to apply to the University of Wisconsin-Madison, you must complete their campus application. Learn more from their website at http://info.gradsch.wisc.edu/education/diversity/srop/.
If you wish to apply to the University of Michigan, you must complete their campus application here: https://secure.rackham.umich.edu/Recruitment/srop/
Participation in SROP is an excellent opportunity for you to become familiar with a place where you might like to pursue graduate study. SROP also gives you a chance to become acquainted with professors in the departments where you might apply. Therefore, it is advisable to explore the graduate offerings at the participating institutions. If you are interested in native cultures, does your chosen university have faculty with expertise in this area? Are you interested in robotics, what kinds of research are the faculty doing in this field?
If no one is doing research in your desired area at the institutions where you apply, it will be difficult for program staff to match you with a research mentor and you minimize your chances of receiving an offer. Give yourself enough time to review the institutions where you plan to apply.
